Project Management Classroom Initiative
Developing Teacher Leaders

Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF) and MBA Research & Curriculum Center have partnered to provide training and technical support for up to 50 educators/volunteers in a train-the-trainer setting.  The focus of these workshops is to prepare educators/volunteers to deliver professional development to adult learners and to have each one of those educators/volunteers deliver Project Management training to 100 educators/volunteers. These educators/volunteers will integrate project management into their curriculum with the ultimate goal of reaching a conservative estimate of 5000 educators/volunteers in all curriculum areas and grade levels (K-12) over a 12-month period. 

Application Information

 

Thank you for your interest in being a Project Management Trainer. We are currently seeking fifty (50) K-12 teachers to participate in the Project Management Classroom Initiative developed by MBA Research in conjunction with the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF). These candidates must have strong leadership skills and experience in presenting to adult learners. Project Management experience is not required, but recommended, to participate.

If you are selected as a Project Management Trainer, you will receive an extensive two-day training in Spring 2019. This training will prepare you to deliver Project Management training to a minimum of 100 additional educators/volunteers who will then deliver project management lessons to students in their classroom.   You’ll gain valuable professional development while also helping your colleagues grow as educators—all with the ultimate goal of building students’ project management skills and setting them on the path for educational and career success! You will also earn a stipend ($1000) upon meeting the requirements for training other educators in your state/region. The cost for training is $0. All travel expenses, per MBA Research policy, will be covered, including flight, hotel, meals, and transportation to/from the airport. As needed, substitute costs (up to $100 per day) will also be paid.

The application process has two phases.

Phase One: Complete the project application by Monday, December 10, 2018.

Phase Two: If you are selected, you must provide a Letter of Recommendation from your administrator, or district or state leader to document and vouch for your success in presenting to adult learners. Your administrator will also need to complete the PM Classroom Initiative Administration Authorization Form indicating his/her support for you to participate in all required activities for this Project Management Classroom Initiative. The deadline for submitting an application for this opportunity is Monday, December 10, 2018. Applicants will be notified on or about Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
