Beth M. Osteen

Beth has been with the organization since 1979, initially as a graduate research associate through The Ohio State University, and now as Vice President of Research and Development. She is primarily responsible for standards research and for writing professional development modules for business administration teachers.

In her role as standards researcher, Beth was instrumental in the development of the National Business Administration Standards and Curriculum Framework as well as being the lead developer for the marketing standards used in the National Career Clusters Initiative. She has worked on the development of standards for many different states and has oversight responsibilities for the Executive Advisory Network (ExecNet).

Beth’s professional development modules address such diverse topics as academic integration, determination of curricula scope, programs of study, selection and evaluation of classroom resources, and assessment of student performance. Additional modules are coming soon.

Beth is married to her wonderful husband Jim, and they have one adult son (who has been gainfully employed and on his own since graduating from college in 2009). She’s an avid reader of the mostly-junk-genre and has belonged to a book club since the early ‘90s before book clubs became popular. She also enjoys cooking and trying new recipes, not always successfully.
