Prairie View High School Business program was named the first Flagship Business Program by MBA Research/High Schools of Business in the country. The school has over 500 active students and teaches both high school sections and concurrent enrollment sections of our courses. CTE Teachers in 27J also receive a CTE stipend in addition to the pay offered to offset the time and effort for supporting a CTSO. They have an active internship program and three thriving student-run businesses as part of the environment. The program is also rigorous and attracts top students within the building. This past year, 7 of the Top 15 academic graduates were in the business program.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Career and Technical Education Business Instructor will be to further the implementation of 27J Schools Career and Technical Education programs at the high school level.  The instructor will provide instruction in the MBA Research High School of Business program.  

Career and Technical Education, also referred to as STEM/CTE in 27J Schools, is a sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational experience to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers. STEM/CTE programs deliver an enriched educational experience that promotes student interest and academic success while developing technical and career readiness skills necessary for the workplace of the future. Graduates of today’s rigorous and relevant STEM/CTE programs are better prepared for high-wage, high-skill and high demand careers.

EXPERIENCE AND ACADEMIC PREPARATION:

  1. Secondary CTE Business/Marketing authorization (license)
  2. Preference given for experience in the business field, including MBA or other levels of education.
  3. Bilingual literacy in Spanish is preferred.
