MBA Professional Development Team

MBA Research offers a variety of workshops, webinars, conference presentations, and other professional development activities.  Along with our full-time R&D staff, our adjunct PDTeam brings recent, real-world experience.  Each is highly qualified in terms of experience with MBA Research research, products, and services, and has demonstrated high levels of achievement with their own local programs.  All have taught and mentored a wide range of business and marketing students and all have been active in both their student organizations (BPA, DECA, and FBLA) and their professional associations, including ACTE and NBEA.

From Kentucky…

Jodi Adams is an award-winning high school Business Administration teacher in Jefferson County Public Schools, Louisville, KY.  Her professional experiences include roles as adjunct faculty at Ivy Tech Community College (IN) and at Indiana Wesleyan University.  Jodi is a member of the MBA Teacher Advisory Network, on the MBA PDTeam, and serves as Program Chair for Eastern’s MBA High School of Business.™







From Michigan…

Dr. Brenda Clark is School-to-Career Coordinator at Jenison Public Schools (MI) where she teaches several Business Administration courses.  Under her leadership, Jenison has introduced new courses in entrepreneurship and economics, served as a National Model Program, and is planning for introduction of an MBA High School of Business.™ She has served as adjunct faculty at several colleges, and been an active leader at both the state and national levels in both professional and student organizations.  Brenda has worked closely with MBA Research for many years, most recently as a lead trainer.
 







From Indiana…

Judy Commers taught Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sports Marketing and was a DECA Advisor in Indiana for 40 years, teaching at comprehensive high schools and a career center. She continues her career as an adjunct business instructor at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. During her career, Judy has been a strong supporter of MBA Research materials, and she believes attending Conclave is the best investment a teacher can make in his/her professional life. Judy authored McGraw-Hill’s Marketing Dynamics teacher edition textbook (and supplemental materials that accompany the text), and she co-authored the Entrepreneurship textbook. Judy’s position begins in July 2017.





From North Carolina…

Tammy Cyrus is a Business and Marketing Education teacher at South Central High School (NC).  She has received her National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) certification, her Master of Arts in Business Education (MaED) and will graduate with a Master of Science in School Administration (MSA) this summer.  Her professional experiences include working as adjunct faculty at Pitt Community College, working as a consultant with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, serving as Department Chairperson for the CTE Department, secretary of the School Improvement Team, mentoring beginning teachers, and working as a CTSO adviser for FBLA.




From West Virginia…

Adam Feazell is in his eighth year of teaching in Putnam County, WV. He started his career as a technology integration specialist in the elementary and middle grade levels, then spent the next 4 years as a business education and special education teacher. The past two years he has worked as a business/marketing education teacher. Adam attended WVU Institute of Technology’s Community College where he received his AS in Accounting, and then attended Marshall University to earn a BS in Business Education. He obtained an MA in Multi-Category Special Education and an MA in Leadership Studies. When he started teaching, Adam served as a school advisor for both FLBA and DECA. This is Adam’s second year as the West Virginia DECA’s Chartered Association Advisor. 





From Michigan…

Kim Guest is currently a local CTE Director, marketing and accounting teacher, as well as a DECA advisor at Kearsley High School in Flint, MI. Kim has a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Administration with a concentration in CTE along with a Masters Degree in Education Technology.  She operates a Gold Certified SBE.  Kim has served on the Michigan Marketing Educators (MME) Board for seven years, and is currently the president.  Kim was also a teacher leader for the Economics in Marketing initiative in the state. She has worked on various curriculum alignment projects and co-chairs the Michigan Summer Marketing Academy sponsored by MME. Kim has presented at numerous state and national conferences, most recently at Conclave. 






From Washington…

Lori Hairston was an educator and DECA Advisor in Washington for the last 20 years. Her professional experiences include 16 years in Retail Management, 10 years on the board of the Washington Association of Marketing Educators, and 6 years on the Washington DECA Board of Directors, including 4 as Board Chair.  Lori obtained her MBA in Management and Strategy last year and plans to do professional development and training full time.







From Kentucky…

Rachel Kahly is a business and marketing teacher and DECA advisor at Jessamine Career and Tech Center in Nicholasville, KY. There she built the marketing program for Jessamine County and implemented MBA Research’s High School of Business™ program. Her students have won many competitions at both regional and national DECA conferences under her leadership.








From New Mexico…

Lacee Manus is a Marketing Education teacher at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, NM. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in Secondary Education. Lacee has served on the NM ACTE Board for the past 4 years as well as the NM DECA Board for the past 8 years.  After being elected as the NM DECA Teacher of the Year in 2013, Lacee also assisted in developing the Marketing Curriculum for NM Marketing teachers (with the help of MBA Research of course). 





 

From Michigan…

Jennifer Milke is a Marketing, Small Business, and Personal Finance teacher, as well as a DECA advisor at Henry Ford II High School in Sterling Heights, MI. Mrs. Milke received her BS in secondary education from Central Michigan University and is vocationally certified in marketing and business. She received her Master’s in public administration with an emphasis in educational administration at the University of Michigan Flint.

Jennifer’s dedication to the profession extends beyond the classroom. She became an International DECA Certified Trainer in 2012 and trained teachers at the the state and regional levels. She has been on the Michigan Marketing Educators (MME) Board since 2009, and served as the president and secretary. She has co-chaired the MME fall conference,  co- facilitates the statewide Marketing Teacher Summer Academy, sponsored by MME,and has worked on numerous curriculum alignment projects. In 2010, Jennifer received the Dr. Jack T. Humbert New Professional of the Year Award. Her DECA Chapter has received numerous awards and regularly qualifies students to the International DECA Conference.

Jennifer was selected as a lead teacher for the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Marketing in Economics Curriculum Integration Grant administered through Berrien RESA. Her leadership resulted in the development of 45 lesson plans aligned to the State’s economics standards allowing teachers to grant state graduation credit through State Approved Marketing Education Programs.

From Kentucky…

Will Morgan is a national instructor for the High School of Business program and a retired Army Warrant Officer who specialized in budget management and managed a culturally diverse workforce of military and civilian employees. After the Army, Will worked in manufacturing, specializing in supply chain management, special projects operations, budget management and staffing large complex departments. Will later entered the world of academia as an instructor at Eastern High School (KY) and a part-time facilitator with University of Phoenix. Will has instructed courses ranging from web design, German language, critical thinking, finance and marketing, to action research. Will utilizes his educational background which includes a bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral work in management, seeking personal and professional improvement while sharing with others. 


From New Jersey…

Helen Redmond, LEAP Academy University Charter School, NJ. Helen is a High School of Business™ instructor and has a strong background in Special Education so will bring a background in instructional strategies and project based learning to the team. Helen was most recently recognized as the teacher of the year at LEAP Academy University Charter School for her innovative teaching techniques, her strong commitment to student learning, and her concern for students in and out of the classroom.








From Tennessee…

After 25 years in the high-tech industry, Dr. Ann Stewart turned her attention to education and hasn’t looked back. As a Marketing & Entrepreneurship teacher, Stewart facilitated the development and opening of the first full service in-school coffee shop, Sketch It Up, in the district and the first high school business to have full membership in the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. As the CTE Department Chair at Stewarts Creek High School, she is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Center for the school, a four-year entrepreneurship curriculum for non-marketing students, and is developing the curriculum in conjunction with Dr. Maria Edlin at Middle Tennessee State University for the four-year program. As the lead DECA Advisory, Stewart heads Stewarts Creek Marketplace, a shopping center in the school that includes the Creekside Coffee Shop, Stewarts Creek Design (print shop), Creekside Bank, and Hawk's Nest Bookstore.

Dr. Stewart has been a DECA advisor for twelve years. She has had many students place in the Top 10 and Top 20 at DECA's International Career Development Conferences (ICDC), and has even had 1st - 3rd place winners. At Nashville's 2016 ICDC, Dr. Stewart presented "DECA Goes Lean" for new advisors. The project based learning presentation introduced the new Lean Business Model, now used in many DECA written events, to advisors and gave them active lessons to take back to the classroom. Dr. Stewart received her doctorate from Tennessee State University in 2013 with a dissertation entitled A Mixed Methods Study of Service Learning in a Public High School
